A 5 day fireside camping retreat, devoted to the art, and craft, of Story.

Dive deep into myth, folklore and personal story: tracking, finding, shaping and telling.

For thousands of years, humans have gathered around fires to tell stories - to make meaning of love, grief, belonging, suffering and transformation.

It’s time for us to reclaim our innate ability to create and share rich and relevant stories, beyond the shallow screen stories that are driven by market forces to deliver drama and pyrotechnics without depth.

It’s time to rewild our stories…

The Way of Story is a 5-day immersive camping retreat held in the beautiful bush of Yadboro, NSW, where we explore the ancient craft of storytelling as both art and ceremony.

Together, we will delve into myth, archetype, dream, memory, nature tracking, voice, and embodied expression-learning not only how to tell stories, but how to live them.

This is not simply a retreat about performance.

It is about becoming someone who can hear the deeper story underneath life, and convey that wisdom as a gift to others.

Through fireside teachings, nature immersion, small-group practice, reflective space, and direct mentoring with Lee, participants will be invited into a powerful and intimate container for creativity, truth-telling, and transformation.

You’ll get to practice as much or as little actual storytelling as you like. For most people this is a sensitive edge - talking to a group is not something many of us are familiar with, even lovely, friendly and supportive humans around a campfire.

There will be space to explore your relationship with your own voice, and practice around asking for, and holding the attention of others. This may be the most powerful aspect of the camp for many people - the permission and power to have your voice heard, and truth told.

Whether you are a therapist, facilitator, parent, leader, artist, or someone simply called by story, this retreat offers a rare opportunity to deepen your relationship with imagination, voice, and meaning.

Limited places available.

And just FYI this camp is an experiment - we may not offer it again…

From your Facilitator:

For me, being told stories as a child was one of the most magical experiences in my young life. Entering a world of someone else’s making was breathtakingly mysterious and yet also utterly familiar - like a homecoming.
My dad’s voice became a portal, and what he conveyed through his voice was exciting and enchanting, but at the same time profoundly loving and reassuring.

That combination of relaxation, safety and care, alongside deeply focused and engaged attention was a balm to my young nervous system.

I’ve been passionate about offering others something similar ever since, telling campfire stories on our ReWild Tribe, using narrative therapy in my Holistic Psychotherapy practice and teaching it on our training course.

This is the first time I’ll be unpacking all I know about storytelling from my decades of exploration in the craft.

If you love stories and storytelling too, I can’t wait to see you there!
